How does an Auction work?

We auction vehicles and assets received from clients (mainly Departments & Municipalities)

What is the deposit for?

The deposit is your buy in for attending and participating on any auction. If you haven’t bought anything, your deposit is refunded. The deposit is also deducted off your total if you have purchased any item(s).

How do I pay & how long do I have?

All payments must be done via EFT, directly at the bank or cash (attracts 2.5% cash handling fee). Commonly payments must be made within 24hrs after the auction unless stipulated differently.

What charges are made as fees and administration?

Sarai Auctions charges a buyers’ commission relative to each auction (varies), VAT (client specific) and an administration fee of R2500 per lot purchased (if vehicle). Only vehicles carry an administration fee.

When can I view items/lots on sale?

All items or lots on auction can be viewed 24 hrs before the auction or as specified.

How do I register for an auction?

Potential clients can register online or on site during viewing and auction days. For clients to register they will need to submit the following, proof of payment (deposit), FICA documents (these include but not exclusively ID copy (proxy if company), Proof of residence (not older than 3 months), VAT certificate, any other important details needed by auctioneer.

Are items sold on auction guaranteed?

No. All information and details provided by auctioneer are at the sellers’ discretion, thus if the wrong information is supplied, the auctioneer will not be held responsible. All items are sold Voetstoets (as is).

When can I view items/lots on sale?
